Having dabbled in various roles within the cosmetic enhancements + wellness industries, I've made it my personal mission to shake up the status quo when it comes to owning a business, expressing artistry, and passing on knowledge. I'm all about reforming this world to make it healthier and legally sound for everyone involved.
to understand why this is a problem, we must talk about the bare bones of business. You'd expect them to be crystal clear, right? Yet, my journey from starting my own venture to getting licensed revealed just how murky things can get. It's pretty shocking, don't you think? In a field where passion is everything, you'd imagine there'd be some sort of government oversight to ensure we're not just going in circles, but actually gaining something valuable along the way. And let's not forget about protecting clients too. The reckless decisions made by so-called "artists" have deeply affected countless people's perception of their own beauty and tarnished the integrity of our entire industry.
tattoo licensing? It shouldn't be a cakewalk. But right now, they're handing out licenses without requiring the essentials (mind you, tattoo laws haven't been updated since 2002)—like how to change your techniques to better fit your client's needs for example. It's frustrating to see genuine enthusiasts left in the lurch while mediocre training reigns supreme.
I believe hard work should pay off. But too often, eager learners end up at the mercy of pricey, poorly trained employers who couldn't care less about their success. That's not acceptable. humans investing in top-notch training deserve an industry that respects their hustle and sets them up for the long haul.
forget cosmetic tattooing - this is something that has thoroughly raised a red flag in business ownership. there is little to guide us in terms of employee contracts, honorable policies, approachable business structure, the list goes on for miles.
why, when we have pure intentions for creating a long-lasting legacy, should we be held at the throat to enforce unethical processes for team members, clients, or even our collaborators?
inkvictus inkstitute began out of a passion to be the one redefining the rules and regulations of the cosmetic tattooing industry, but i’ve realized the need extends to those playing the role of business owner, team member, partner, beyond. So i introduce, the inkvictus Skill garage, a place where all forms of ethical trainings, no matter the topic, can be found. i can assure, the only trainings that i will ever allow are those that put integrity, ethics, and accessibility in the driver’s seat.
i've said it before, I'll say it again; it’s far due time to change the narrative.
