INKVICTUS STUDIOS

We love a good question. We love an answered one even more. Here's everything we get asked the most, straight from us.

Finding us

Where are you located and what are your hours?
We're at 107 Wind Chime Ct, Raleigh, NC. We're open Wednesday through Friday 11am to 7pm, and Saturdays 11am to 6pm. Parking is ample.
Please note, we are on the back side of the building, pull around and you'll see our sign! ◡̈

Are you walk-in friendly or do I need an appointment?
Both, depending on the day and service. Wednesday through Friday are appointment-based for tattoos and piercings, but if there are holes in the schedule, we'll squeeze you in. Saturdays are walk-in only for tattoos and piercings. Facials and lashes are always walk-in friendly. For nails, it depends on the day, so call ahead before making the trip.

Do you accept card or cash?
Both. Whatever works for you.

Booking and appointments

How do I book a tattoo appointment?
Everything goes through the request form on our website. Always. Fill it out completely, attach reference photos, and include your budget. If any of that's missing, the request isn't going to make it far.

Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require a 50% deposit to hold your appointment. Deposits are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule, we ask for at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations day-of may result in forfeiting your deposit.

How long does it take to hear back after I submit a request?
We do our best to get back to everyone within a week, though during busy stretches it can take a little longer. Real talk though: if your form isn't filled out completely, we will delete it. Read everything, attach pictures, include your budget. The more detail you give us, the better we can help you. We mean that with all the love.

How far out are you booked?
It really depends. Sometimes you're looking at a few weeks out for tattoos, sometimes something opens up the same week. Piercings, esthetics, and nails typically have sooner availability.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
Yes, one guest per client. We love good moral support, just keep it to one buddy.

Pricing

How much do tattoos cost?
Tattoo pricing is done through our request form because it genuinely depends on size, placement, detail, and the artist. We don't quote over DM/ over the phone. What we can tell you is that tiny tattoos start at $60. All quotes are handled through the request form.

How much do piercings cost?
Piercings typically start around $65. Pricing varies by placement and jewelry selection. Come in or reach out and we can get you a more specific number.

Are you still doing PWYC flash? How does it work?
Yes. PWYC (Pay What You Can) flash is walk-in only, no appointments. You choose from available flash designs and pay what you're able. One per person, per appointment, and only once a month. It cannot be combined with a custom piece or any other service. PWYC is available on arms and legs only, shoulder to wrist and hip to ankle.

How many flash designs can I get at one time?
One flash per appointment.

Day of your appointment

What should I bring and how should I prepare?
Eat before you come in. Beyond that, bring whatever makes you comfortable, a book, earphones, a blanket, comfy clothes. We have covers and pasties on hand if you need them for placement, and we keep snacks and water in the studio.

How do walk-ins work?
Come in, get on the list, and we work through it as the day goes. If we can't get to you or your time is coming up, we'll text you. Otherwise, plan to stick around once you're on the list.

Tattoo Specifics

Can I get my nails done right after a hand tattoo?
We generally advise against it. A fresh hand tattoo needs time to heal, and nail services can get in the way of that. In some cases we've been able to work around it, but ask your artist before you book anything back to back.

Can my teenager get a tattoo if I sign for them?
No. Tattoos are 18+ in North Carolina. That's state law, and there are no exceptions.

Can I get a custom piece and a PWYC at the same appointment?
No. PWYC is its own standalone walk-in. You can't stack it with anything else, one per visit, one per month.

Piercing specifics

My child wants a piercing. What do I need to know?
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian physically present the entire time, not just dropping them off. We require a birth certificate and government-issued ID to verify both the minor's identity and the adult's actual relationship to them.

How long after a fresh piercing do I need to wait before getting a facial?
Four weeks minimum. Give it time to settle before putting it near heat, steam, or product.

Do you do dermals? What placements are available?
We do. Dermal placement is anatomy-based, so we require a consult with our piercer first. Come in and we'll assess what works for your specific anatomy before we commit to anything.

Do you do snake eyes or frog eye piercings?
Nope.

Can I get a facial and a piercing on the same day?
No. Pick one for the day. If you've already had a facial and want to come in for a piercing, let us know the placement and timing and we'll go from there.

Can I bring my own jewelry?
For initial piercings, no. To make sure everything heals properly, we only use our own jewelry. Once you're healed, we're happy to do a jewelry change for $20.

When can I change my piercing jewelry?
It depends on the piercing. On average, most piercings are ready for a change somewhere between 6 and 12 weeks. When you're healed and ready, come see us and we'll swap it out for $20.

What metal is your jewelry?
All of our jewelry is implant grade titanium (ASTM F136) or 14k+ gold.

Aftercare and concerns

How do I take care of my new tattoo?
We send every client home with a cleanser and moisturizer and go over aftercare with you before you leave. We also have a highlight on our Instagram with detailed aftercare directions you can reference anytime.

My tattoo or piercing looks infected. What do I do?
Contact us immediately so we can take a look and advise. That said, we are not doctors. If something looks serious, we're going to tell you to see your primary care provider. Don't wait on that.
