TL;DR on TikTok, what’s included in a facial here: LINK
If you’ve ever tried to book a facial, you know the menu. Ten services, each one word different from the next, and somehow you’re supposed to know which one your skin needs, or what’s actually included in the facial itself. Hydrating, brightening, clarifying, signature, deluxe. Then you get to the end of the appointment and someone hands you a bag of products to buy.
Here’s the thing. You can’t expect a client to know what their skin needs. That’s our job. So when people ask what’s included in a facial at Inkvictus, the honest answer is: everything your skin needs that day, for one price.
Most places make you choose from a list. We don’t think that’s fair to you. As the professionals, we should be the ones guiding you, not the other way around.
So you get everything below, included in a facial at Inkvictus, for the same all-inclusive price. Then we customize it to what your skin needs at the time of service. You don’t pay more because your skin needed extractions today. And you don’t pay for something your skin doesn’t need just because it was on the menu.
Current pricing is on our services page.
Every facial starts with a mini consultation and a skin analysis. We look at whether your skin is dry, oily, or combination. We figure out which treatments will help you, which ones won’t, and which ones you shouldn’t get at all.
And we explain all of it as we go. This isn’t just a facial. You’ll know why you’re getting each step, what it means, and how it connects to what your skin needs right now. You should walk out understanding your own skin a little better than when you walked in.
This is the part most people skip through, and it’s one of the most important. Your medical history tells us what’s safe for your skin before we ever touch it. Here are a few real examples of what changes a facial:
If something comes up during your appointment that wasn’t on the form, we’ll reschedule or cancel. We’re not going to risk your skin or your health. Filling out the form accurately helps us prepare, and it sets you up for success.
This one surprises people. A lot of clients tell us they have sensitive skin. What most people call sensitive skin is usually a compromised barrier.
When you put a product on, do you feel stinging, tingling, burning, or itching? That’s a sign your barrier is compromised. Often it’s because you’ve been using strong active ingredients, or a mix of products that stripped your skin down.
Active ingredients are things like vitamin C, mandelic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, and other AHAs and BHAs. They’re highly concentrated, and depending on what they’re for, they can cause redness, dryness, and flaking. Some of them also don’t play well together.
So when someone comes in with a compromised barrier, we ask for the specific product names you’re using. We look at how often you use them and how much. Sometimes it’s too much, sometimes too little. And sometimes you followed TikTok and you’re putting 15 different products on your face.
Less is usually more. Dermatologists say the same thing: the American Academy of Dermatology recommends that you simplify your skin care routine.
Here’s everything included in a facial at Inkvictus, and what each part actually does for your skin, in plain words.
Different colors of light help with different things. Red light stimulates collagen, which gives your skin its elasticity and bounce. That’s something mature skin naturally loses over time. Green light is calming, which is great after extractions. Blue light targets acne by killing bacteria in the skin.
This is the instant gratification step. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair, the peach fuzz on your face, along with the top layer of dead skin. You’ll see your skin tone brighten right away. It also helps the products we use afterward absorb more deeply.
We use high frequency after extractions to calm and soothe the skin and kill bacteria. It creates ozone over the face, and estheticians use it to support collagen and help with signs of aging.
Honestly, extractions are not our favorite part. But sometimes skin is heavily congested with dead skin and oil that has hardened under the surface, and it needs to come out. Milia are a different story. They’re small bumps of trapped keratin with no pore to come out of, so we have to lance them. They often show up around the eyes, and using too much product can be part of the cause.
Cooling globes help depuff, and they feel amazing after all that work on your skin.
A little extra relaxation while your products process. You deserve it.
A lot of facials end with a sales pitch. Ours don’t.
We only recommend products we’ve used ourselves and trust. If we notice something during your service, we’ll suggest a budget-friendly option. It’s a recommendation, not a sale. You’ll also leave with aftercare instructions and best practices.
And we’ll never shame you for what you already use. If you’re using a drugstore brand because that’s what fits your budget, and it works for you, that’s okay. Nobody here is going to tell you your products are wrong and then hand you ours.
Your routine at home can stay simple: cleanse, moisturize, protect, and exfoliate once a week if your budget allows.
Never had a facial? Not doing a routine? Only washing your face with water? We’re glad you’re here. We’ll start this skin journey together.
And if you can’t always be consistent because life gets in the way, don’t feel bad about it. Shaming clients is common in the beauty world. It doesn’t happen here.
That’s the same standard we hold across the whole studio. It’s unfair to expect clients to already know everything, which is why we wrote What Questions Should You Ask a Tattoo Artist Before Getting Inked? The same goes for your skin.
We usually recommend at least once a month. But here’s the truth: about 80% of the work happens at home. What you do every day matters most.
If you’re getting a facial as a treat, for a specific concern, or for an event, absolutely book one. Just know that the results last when your home routine keeps them going.
And it’s not only about products. Your diet, your lifestyle, your hormones, and your stress all show up in your skin too. A facial and a good routine help a lot, but they work best alongside the rest of how you take care of yourself.
Your first facial is really us getting to know your skin. It’s where we start a game plan and decide how to move forward.
If you’re trying to correct something, one facial won’t do it. Consistency at home, plus regular visits with your esthetician, is what really helps. People love the immediate results, and you can keep them, as long as you keep up with it.
At Inkvictus, it’s everything your skin needs that day, for one price, explained as we go, with no sales pitch at the end. You don’t have to know what to book. That’s our job.
